"toka e" [Zan 47:11 ], ndoshta ishte "toka e Goshenit" [Zan 45:10 ]. Pasi hebrenjtë ndërtuan Ramesesin, një nga "qytetet e thesarit," ajo u bë e njohur si "toka" në të cilën u ndërtua ai qytet. Qyteti që mbante këtë emër [Eks 12:37 ] ndoshta ishte identik me Zoanin, të cilin Ramesesi II. ("biri i diellit") e rindërtoi. U bë rezidenca e tij e veçantë dhe u rendit pas në rëndësi dhe madhështi pas Tebës. Masat e mëdha të tullave, të bëra nga balta e Nilit, të thara në diell, disa prej tyre të përziera me kashtë, ndoshta të formuara nga duart e hebrenjve, ende tregojnë vendin e Ramesesit. Ky ishte vendi i përgjithshëm i mbledhjes së izraelitëve para se të fillonin marshimin e tyre jashtë Egjiptit. Quhej gjithashtu Raamses [Eks 1:11 ].

Rameses
"the land of" (Gen 47:11), was probably "the land of Goshen" (q.v.) (Gen 45:10). After the Hebrews had built Rameses, one of the "treasure cities," it came to be known as the "land" in which that city was built.
The city bearing this name (Ex 12:37) was probably identical with Zoan, which Rameses II. ("son of the sun") rebuilt. It became his special residence, and ranked next in importance and magnificance to Thebes. Huge masses of bricks, made of Nile mud, sun-dried, some of them mixed with stubble, possibly moulded by Jewish hands, still mark the site of Rameses. This was the general rendezvous of the Israelites before they began their march out of Egypt. Called also Raamses (Ex 1:11).
