tavernat: Tri Taverna (latinisht Tres Tabernae, greqisht transliteruar treis tabernai; Ciceroni Ad Att. i.13; ii.12, 13) ishte një stacion në Rrugën Apiane në gurin e 33-të (301/3 milje angleze nga Roma), sipas Itinerarëve të Perandorisë Romake (Itin. Ant. vii; Tab. Peut.; Geogr. Rav. iv.34), një pikë konvergjence e trafikut në kryqëzimin e një rruge nga Antiumi në Norba. Tripontiumi, 6 milje poshtë Rrugës Apiane në drejtim të Forumit të Apit, konsiderohej si pika ku autostrada hynte në rajonin e kënetave Pontiac, tipari më i shquar natyror i kësaj pjese të Italisë.
Grupet e vëllezërve të krishterë në Romë dolën për të përshëndetur apostullin Pal kur lajmi u soll se ai kishte mbërritur në Puteoli, një grup duke shkuar deri në Forumin e Apit, ndërsa një tjetër priste ardhjen e tij në Tri Taverna [Vepr 28:15 ].

Taverns, The three
a place on the great "Appian Way," about 11 miles from Rome, designed for the reception of travellers, as the name indicates. Here Paul, on his way to Rome, was met by a band of Roman Christians (Acts 28:15). The "Tres Tabernae was the first mansio or mutatio, that is, halting-place for relays, from Rome, or the last on the way to the city. At this point three roads run into the Via Appia, that from Tusculum, that from Alba Longa, and that from Antium; so necessarily here would be a halting-place, which took its name from the three shops there, the general store, the blacksmith's, and the refreshment-house...Tres Tabernae is translated as Three Taverns, but it more correctly means three shops" (Forbes's Footsteps of St. Paul, p.20).
