[J 4,5 ], vesnička 'Aksar na vých. svahu hory *Hébal, asi 3 km sv. od Sichemu, vzdálená asi 700 m sv od studnice Jákobovy sr. [Gn 48,22 ], kde měl Ježíš známou rozmluvu se Samaritánkou [J 4,13 ; J 4,14 ]. Ukazuje se zde také hrob Josefův v mohamedánské svatyňce [Joz 24,32 n].

Sychar
liar or drunkard [See (Isa 28:1; 28:7)], has been from the time of the Crusaders usually identified with Sychem or Shechem (John 4:5). It has now, however, as the result of recent explorations, been identified with 'Askar, a small Samaritan town on the southern base of Ebal, about a mile to the north of Jacob's well.
