Cnidus
Description
GNIDUS
[Ac 27:7 ; Greek Knidos] is a free city and port on the most beautiful southwestern promontory of Asia Minor, where the ship on which Paul sailed arrived. It was an important city on the promontory, now called Cape Grio, between the islands of Cos [Koum] and Rhodes [cf. Ac 21:1 ]. From the 2nd century BC, there was already a Jewish colony here.
