Gilo
Description
A town in the hill country of Judah mentioned along with Jattir, Socoh, Debir, Eshtemoa, etc. (Josh 15:51 ). Ahithophel came from here (2Sam 15:12 ) and is called the Gilonite (2Sam 23:34 ).

Giloh
exile, a city in the south-west part of the hill-country of Judah (Josh 15:51 ). It was the native place or residence of the traitor Ahithophel "the Gilonite" (Josh 15:51 ; 2Sam 15:12 ), and where he committed suicide (2Sam 17:23 ). It has been identified with Kurbet Jala, about 7 miles north of Hebron.
