Ramath-lehi

Description

[= jawbone]. A place in the territory of the tribe of Judah near the borders of the Philistine land, opposite Etam, the scene of Samson's deeds with the jawbone of a donkey [Judg 15:9 , Judg 15:14 , Judg 15:19 ]. It was a hill [Ramat-Lechi] with a plentiful, permanent water spring [Judg 15:18 -19]. Today, the village of Beit Likiyya is located at the same site, about 2 km from Upper Bethoron. However, others locate this place elsewhere.
