S. from [1Chr 5:16 ] is located on the east side of the Jordan, adjacent to the territory of Gilead and Bashan. However, some interpreters believe it refers to Sirion, Sarion = Hermon. Others think it means the Gilead plateau between the Arnon River and the city of Heshbon [cf. [Deut 3:10 ]].
