Sibmah
Description
A town in the pastoral region on the southeast side of the Jordan, which was requested as an inheritance by the tribes of Reuben and Gad [Nm 32:2 ]. It is probably the same town that is named Sabma in [Nm 32:38 ; Josh 13:19 ] and Sibma in [Isa 16:8 ; Jer 48:32 ]. It was famous for its wine. According to St. Jerome, it was located about 1 km from Heshbon towards Mount *Nebo.
