AENON
e'-non (Ainon): Koht, kus Johannes ristis, "sest seal oli palju vett" [Jh 3:23 ]. See asus Jordani lääneküljel, koht, kus Johannes algselt ristis, oli idaküljel [Jh 1:28 ; Jh 3:26 ; Jh 10:40 ]. Võime olla kindlad, et see ei olnud Samaaria territooriumil. Eusebius, Onomasticon, asukoht määrab selle 8 Rooma miili lõuna pool Skythopolist (Beisan), see Jordani läänepoolne maa-ala ei olnud siis Samaaria, vaid Skythopolise all. Selle asukoht määratakse Salimi läheduse järgi.

Aenon
springs, a place near Salim where John baptized (John 3:23). It was probably near the upper source of the Wady Far'ah, an open valley extending from Mount Ebal to the Jordan. It is full of springs. A place has been found called 'Ainun, four miles north of the springs.
