Azija
se koristi za označavanje Prokonsularne Azije, rimske provincije koja je obuhvaćala zapadne dijelove Male Azije, a čiji je glavni grad bio Efez, u [Dj 2:9 ; Dj 6:9 ; Dj 16:6 ; Dj 19:10 ; Dj 19:22 ; Dj 20:4 ; Dj 20:16 ; Dj 20:18 ], itd., i vjerojatno Mala Azija u [Dj 19:26 ; Dj 19:27 ; Dj 21:27 ; Dj 24:18 ; Dj 27:2 ]. Prokonsularna Azija sadržavala je sedam crkava Apokalipse [Otk 1:11 ]. "Poglavari Azije" [Dj 19:31 ] bili su određeni bogati građani koji su svake godine birani da predsjedaju igrama i vjerskim festivalima u raznim gradovima kojima su pripadali. Neki od tih "Azijarha" bili su Pavlovi prijatelji.

Asia
is used to denote Proconsular Asia, a Roman province which embraced the western parts of Asia Minor, and of which Ephesus was the capital, in (Acts 2:9; 6:9; 16:6; 19:10; 19:22; 20:4; 20:16; 20:18), etc., and probably Asia Minor in (Acts 19:26; 19:27; 21:27; 24:18; 27:2). Proconsular Asia contained the seven churches of the Apocalypse (Rev 1:11). The "chiefs of Asia" (Acts 19:31) were certain wealthy citizens who were annually elected to preside over the games and religious festivals of the several cities to which they belonged. Some of these "Asiarchs" were Paul's friends.
