美しい門
説明
このヘロデの神殿の門は、ペテロとヨハネによる足の不自由な人の癒しの物語で言及されています（使徒 [Ac 3:2, 10]）。美しい門がミシュナの「ニカノルの門」（Mid., i.4）やヨセフスの「コリントの門」（BJ, V, v, 3）と同一視されることについてはほとんど異論がありませんが、この門が東側の女性の庭への入口に位置していたのか、それともその庭と男性の庭を分ける15段の階段に到達する門であったのかについては、意見が分かれています。

Beautiful gate
the name of one of the gates of the temple (Acts 3:2). It is supposed to have been the door which led from the court of the Gentiles to the court of the women. It was of massive structure, and covered with plates of Corinthian brass.
